The Day of Eid is just One Day

ash-Shaykh Saalih ibn al-Fawzaan al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) said:

“The day of ‘Eid is one day, brother, not a number of days.

The days of ‘Eid Al-Ad-ha and ‘Eid Al-Fitr are one day for each. The Days of Tashriq that follow the day of ‘Eid Al-Ad-ha are not days of Eid. They are not called Days of Eid; these are the Days of Tashriq.”

Shaykh Saalih ibn al-Fawzaan al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) was asked a question regarding the statement “Ramadan Kareem”.

Question: The statement “Ramadan Kareem”, is not Allah Al Kareem?

Answer: This has no basis. Their statement Ramadan Kareem, this has no basis. As for “Ramadan Shareef”, “Ramadan Mubaarik”, “Ramadan Adheem”, these descriptions appear in various narrations. Adheem, Mubaarik, Shareef, there is no problem (with these terms). As for Kareem, then I do not know of any origin for this.

Knowledge is to comprehend something as it actually is

Shaykh Saalih ibn al-Fawzaan al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) comments in his explanation of al-Usool ith-Thalaathah:

“And al-‘ilm (knowledge) is to comprehend something as it actually is or to perceive something in accordance with how it actually is.

And to comprehend something in a manner contrary to how it actually is in reality or to perceive something contrary to reality of it – this is al-jahl (ignorance) and it is the opposite of al-‘ilm (knowledge).”
